This page explains, in plain English, what information WordWit collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email quickwitstudios@gmail.com.
- App: WordWit (“the App”)
- Developer: QuickWitStudios (“we”, “us”, “our”)

1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use WordWit on iOS, Android, or the web. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information. If you choose to create an account, we collect an email address (used for sign-in via Firebase Authentication) and a username you pick. You can also play as a guest, in which case no account identifiers are created.
- Gameplay content. Your scores, streaks, deck-play progress, daily-challenge state, and in-app settings (e.g. sound muted) are stored so you have a continuous experience across sessions and, when you opt in, on leaderboards.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data via Google Analytics for Firebase: app opens, screens viewed, feature taps, round start/complete events, and crash-free session status. Event names and parameters are sanitized before sending; we do not log your username, email address, or the raw words you type during a round.
- Advertising identifiers (Android and iOS only) via the Google Mobile Ads SDK / AdMob when we show a rewarded or interstitial ad. This may include the Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA, subject to your operating-system consent settings.
- Approximate location inferred from your IP address for ad delivery and regional analytics. We do not request precise GPS location.
- Crash and error logs generated by the platform and Firebase when the App misbehaves, used to diagnose and fix bugs.
-
Local storage on your device. Settings and a
small amount of cached state (splash-seen flag, deck unlock
state, personal bests) are stored on the device via
SharedPreferences(mobile) or browser storage (web). Clearing app data removes these.
2.3 Information we do not collect
- We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children (see Section 9).
3. How we use information
- Provide core gameplay: save progress, sync leaderboards, and run the daily challenge.
- Understand how features are used so we can fix bugs and improve the experience.
- Show rewarded ads that unlock bonus decks and temporary plays, and interstitial ads where applicable.
- Detect abuse, debug crashes, and keep the App secure.
4. Third-party services
We rely on the following processors. Their own privacy policies govern what they do with the data they receive:
- Firebase Authentication — account sign-in.
- Cloud Firestore — username, leaderboards, daily-challenge state.
- Google Analytics for Firebase — product usage measurement.
- Google Mobile Ads / AdMob — rewarded and interstitial ads.
- Google Play services (Android) — ad delivery and platform integration where required by the OS.

5. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only:
- With the processors above, as needed to operate the App.
- To comply with the law, a court order, or a legitimate government request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- In connection with a business transfer (e.g. acquisition), in which case we will post a prominent notice in the App before any transfer of personal information occurs.
6. Your choices
- Ad personalization. Use your device's OS settings to limit ad tracking (iOS: “Allow Apps to Request to Track” and “Personalized Ads”; Android: “Ads” in Settings).
- Analytics. Closing the App generally halts event collection. Uninstalling the App stops further collection from your device.
- Account deletion. To delete your account and any associated leaderboard entries, email quickwitstudios@gmail.com from the address tied to your account. We will complete verified deletion requests within 30 days.
- Local data. Clearing app data (Android) or deleting and reinstalling the App (iOS) removes on-device progress and cached state.
7. Data retention
- Account data: kept while your account is active and for a short period after deletion to support fraud prevention and backups.
- Leaderboard entries: kept while they are relevant to the active board. Entries for retired boards may be deleted or anonymized.
- Analytics: retention follows Firebase's default retention period (currently 14 months for user-scoped data unless we change it in the Firebase console).
8. International transfers
The App is operated from the United States. If you are outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed by our providers in regions including the United States. By using the App you consent to that transfer.
9. Children
WordWit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the App without the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact quickwitstudios@gmail.com and we will remove it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. To exercise these rights, email quickwitstudios@gmail.com.
11. Security
We use the security controls provided by Firebase (transport encryption, at-rest encryption, access control) and follow basic hygiene (no secrets in the repository, per-environment credentials for release builds). No system is perfectly secure — please do not rely on the App for sensitive data.
12. Changes to this policy
We will post updates to this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be announced in the App's release notes.
